Ashley Andrews, LPN

As long as I can remember I have always been drawn to caring for others. As a child, I would "diagnose and treat" my family members, pets, and dolls. I have always viewed myself as a caregiver. As I grew up, it seemed only natural to pursue my dream and start working towards a nursing degree. In high school, I took vocational courses and graduated in 2002, not only with a diploma, but with a Certified Nursing Assistant license. From there, I studied over the years and completed prerequisites while working full time in a variety of health care settings. My work in Long Term Care, Home Health, Psychiatric illness and drug dependency, and in ophthalmology/optometry helped shape and prepare me for what was to come. I married my soulmate is 2006 and in 2007 welcomed my first child, adding to my skill set the titles of mother and military spouse. In 2009, I graduated from Sandhills Community College as a Licensed Practical Nurse and started a new chapter in my life.  I began my official nursing career working in Pediatrics and then Family Practice.  From there, I transitioned into Triage, Hematology & Oncology, and Inpatient Acute Rehab.  Along the way, I have always enjoyed learning new techniques and diving into new areas of specialty.  Even after 16 years in the medical field I find myself excited for new advances and procedures.  I routinely complete continuing education courses as required by the state board of nursing to stay up to date.  Sometimes, procedures and medical care can seem overwhelming or confusing. I've always felt strongly that every patient deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and kindness and I will go out of my way to ensure that patients under my care feel comfortable, safe, and understood. If you have questions-I have answers! I always want my patients to feel informed and confident in the care they receive from me. I look forward to caring for you!~Ashley
